Controll Your Emails

One of the crucial issues in improving your productivity in IT industry is by controlling your emails.

Here are Few tips :-

1) To receive less emails, send less emails. Send email only whjen it is necessary. Do not send unnecessary emails.

2) Always have a Junc folder, Reference folder and keep only those emails in the inbox which you have to act on. All the emails which are for informational purpose or for reference purpose should be moved to Reference folder.

3) Create rules to move the junc emails to junc folder.

4) If you have spam filters, use those. Anytime you see a junc email block it by adding it in the spam filter.

5) Archieve your emails.  A good schedule is do it every month or if your schedule is too busy handling SDLC, then archieve your emails prior to begining of the next project.

6) Sort emails based on received time and handle in that order.

7) Do not let your inbox grow huge. A large .PST file is difficult for outlook to handle. Keep it short and useful.

8) Do not provide your email ID to known advertisers and do not subscribe to the email mailing lists.

9) Create subfolders and maintain emails in each folder separately.
