Save your eyes from computer radiation
During our interogation with computer professionals, we found that a major concern almost everyone has, is related with their eyes.

Following are some reactions

  • I work long hours in front of the computer. After 3 to 4 hours my eyes get dry and I feel burning in the eyes.

  • I get tears in my eyes when I seat for longer time in front of the computer.

  • My vision becomes blurry.

  • I get headache.

  • I get fatigue and body pain.

  • Letters on the screen run or move or vibrate.

Common solutions found during our investigation are listed here :-

  • The distance between user and computer monitor is very less. Increase distance between computer monitor, it should be atleast 45 centimeter.

  • Refresh rate of the monitor not set as per the user's vision. Many people don't know anything about this. There is a setting available for computer monitors that decides a crucial fact about your monitor ..."in a second how many times monitor screen should be refreshed". This setting is known as "Screen refresh rate". It is available in Monitor settings. Adjust "Screen refresh rate" frequency as per your choice. Refer to the screen shot below.

  • Switch off monitor in between for a brief 4 to 5 seconds.

  • Do not stare at the monitor. Some people reported that after stareing at the monitor for reading important data for hours,  if they suddenly look away from computer monitor then they get illussions of all the world around them is rotating or moving or vibrating. Staring at the monitor is definitely not a good practice. Your eyes need some small pauses in between. Blink your eyes naturally otherwise you may get trouble to focus on objects properly.

  • Wear UV filter screen or goggles while working on the computer.

  • Reduce intensity of the monitor screen.

  • Take nice sleep during night.

  • Wink your eyes in between. This will help in keeping your eyes wet. Otherwise your eyes will go dry and tears will come out naturally to protect your eyes.

  • Observe the light arrangement around your area. If the monitor is glaring, go for a antiglare screens or adjust the orientation of computer monitor.

  • Use larger font display.

  • Check the lotions you used for your face, sometimes even the face lotions create burning in eyes.

  •
People around age 40 and above have more problems with eyes. Especially focusing on computer monitor becomes difficult.  This recently identified syndrome is known as Computer Vision Syndrome. Computer glasses are highly recommended in such cases. It is better to consult doctor for this syndrome.
